On my bike after a long voiceover session
Getting out on my bike is the perfect antidote after a long day in the recording studio. While the summer lasts in London I enjoying my bicycle. This piece didn't need any voice over, just the sound of being immerse in the city

How to sound like a tango dancer
Voice Style; passion, authenticity, mystery, romantic When you think of Tango music it conjures up so many images of mystery, romance, dark, smoke-filled bars and passionate dancers. I wanted to convey all this in my reading so there is a degree of characterisation, imagining myself as a tango dancer with a strong Argentinean accent. Hopefully my love for this music comes across in the reading. ____________________________________________________________ En mi lectura quería

Tell me a story - 'Sally Sunday's Glasses' voiceover foreign accent
Voiceover style; upbeat, enthusiastic, narrative This is an idea for a children’s book I had with my partner. Read in Spanish, it is a good example of a narrative style. I love recording to a brief but it’s also great to record my own stories for myself, to have the creative freedom to do my own thing. It presents its own challenges and I am my own greatest critic when it comes to getting the performance right. Doing my own production is really liberating. Additional audio ma

For this piece about Jorge Luis Borges' summer house in Adrogue, south of Buenos Aires, I wanted my voice to have a sense of wonder and an intimate quality t

Setting the tone for a pressing issue
Voice Style; caring, calm authority When I was asked to record this piece on Zika virus I knew I would need to give careful consideration to the tone of the read. I decided to combine a sense of caring with calm authority to communicate the seriousness of this pressing issue. Cuando lei el guión para grabar el virus del Zika, supe que tenia que darle una gran consideración, pensar detenidamente en la entonación que iba a usar. Decidí combinar un tono de autoridad cálida expre

Dramatic storytelling - part one
Voiceover style; From mysterious, seductive, knowing to fast paced, urgent, frantic. Recorded for BBC Sport as the opening for the World Cup, this montage is about a mythical amazonian monster-snake. The aim of my story telling style at the start of the piece is to trigger a reactive emotion in the audience so that they become drawn in and immersed in the story, willing to put reality to one side for a while. To be convincing, I needed to sound all-knowing about something fas
